How Should I Dress

We're more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear. Our atmosphere is comfortable, relaxed and friendly, and dress varies from casual to corporate casual. You'll see a few ties, but you'll see just as many cowboy boots and jeans (we are in Texas after all) at North Side.

How early should I arrive?

We recommend you plan on arriving to the campus at least 15-20 minutes before the service starts. That will give you time to park, check your kids in and grab a cup of coffee before the service begins. Then you'll want to make sure you get into the Worship Center before the music starts.

Where should I park?

We know that sometimes getting your children to the right spot and checked in can be a stressful experience. So we encourage parents of preschool age children park in our north parking lot and enter in the Children's Building entrance. This way you can walk right in and drop you kids off at the red desk on your left and then head to the Worship Center for our morning service. See the map below to see where the North lot is on our campus.

If you arrive and find the North Lot and our other adjacent lots are full to capacity. In addition, we offer two remote lots, with shuttle service to the Worship Center. The Bowie Lot is located behind the James Bowie Learning Center, which is accessed from Edna Street (through the campus of Couts United Methodist Church). The West Lot is located on the west side of Main Street, across from the church. If you park in the West Lot, please wait for a shuttle. It is a dangerous walk across Main Street, and we don’t want anyone getting hurt!

How can I join North Side Baptist Church?

This question, or one very similar to it, is often asked and may be easily answered. The real prerequisite for membership in North Side is that you have a personal experience with Jesus Christ and are born again. Once this question has been satisfied, there are four methods of placing your membership in the church. These are what we refer to as "By Letter","By Statement", "By Baptism" and "By Watchcare." Each of these methods involves attending our Connection Class. The Connection Class is a one time, 1 hour learning experience for you and your family. During this class, you will learn all about the important aspects of NSBC, as well as how you and your family can begin being a part of the active membership. Following the class, you will be presented to our congregation at the close of one of our Sunday morning worship services.

What is the best way for me to get connected?

At North Side there is something for everyone. One of the best ways to make connections, grow relationships, and be challenged in God’s Word is through one of our small group Bible Studies. Classes are offered for all ages on Sundays at 9:30 & 11:00am. In addition, our Women's Ministry and Men's Ministry provide a additional small-group Bible studies throughout the week. Another way to find out about our church is to attend a Connection Class. Connection Classes are held once a month and will help you learn about our beliefs, history, mission and vision for the future. In this casual setting, you’ll meet a portion of our staff and church members and discover more about North Side. It’s a fun, informative investment of your time, and you’ll also enjoy light refreshments. To discover what discipleship and ministries opportunities are available you can always swing by The Outlet on Sundays before or after the service. The Outlet is our ministry resource center located in the North East Hallway of the Worship Center. Our Friendly volunteers will be happy to help you find the information you are looking for.
