June update - We sill do not need adult and children hats. Please focus on baby pink and Patriotic.
April 2, 2019 We currently have plenty of adult and children's hats. Please focus your efforts on baby hats and the patriotic hats.
Good afternoon, Happy Hatters! I hope you are enjoying the sunshine. I spent the morning at the church organizing and counting our hats. I thought I would go ahead and send an email instead of waiting until our March 25th meeting to share how we stand on hats.
I went ahead and pulled the following and they are ready for mailing before/during our next meeting:
San Antonio Medical Center (Maj. Michelle) - 165
Ft. Stewart Medical Center (Dorene Owens) - 110
Water Reed Medical Center - 120
Walter Reed OBGYN - 140
(We also mailed to each of these military hospitals after our meeting in February (thanks, Cinnamon!).)
We still need to pull 120 hats for our Weatherford Hospital and 50 for Palo Pinto Hospital in the next week or so.
After pulling the hats to mail, the following is our current inventory:
Infant boys - 107
Infant girls - 264
Camo - Brown/green 94; Blue 12
AHA Red Hats - 87
Patriotic - 173
Preemie (Winston's Warriors and hospitals) - 56
Christmas - 58
Valentine's - 6
Fall - 1
In addition, we have 3 large tubs and 1 small tub of adult hats and I large tub of children's hats. As mentioned in the past, we do not need any more adult or children hats since we have an ample supply. We always need infant hats, so please if you can, concentrate on making infant hats. Sizes for infant hats is on our website which Susie Houser manages for us and she makes sure everything we need to know is on the website. Thank you, Susie!!
We have lots of yarn and if you need yarn or we do not have a particular yarn you need, please let Clarica Burns know. She and Barbara Nebert do such a fabulous job of keeping up with our yarn supply/needs.
I want to thank Judy Myers for leading our meeting in February - it was the day we were moving from our villa in Robson Ranch and I needed to be there.
Please remember to check the website for hat sizes and also make sure hats are not thin (if looming, 2 strands of yarn are needed unless it is bulky yarn), Also, if crocheting or knitting, please make sure yarn weight is appropriate for baby hats.
I so appreciate each of you ladies and thank you for being a part of Happy Hats.
