Committee Timeline:
March 29, 2023 – Profiles completed (Pastor, Church, & Community) and prepared for listing the position with the state convention. The committee will continue to meet in April and return to twice each week in May to start the process of reviewing resumes.
January – March 2023 – Committee met twice each week to interview staff and host listening sessions with each adult Bible study class. During these sessions, the committee collected information used to create the Pastor and Church Profile documents.
November 13, 2022 – NSBC met in Special Called Business Meeting to select seven people to join the Chairman of Deacons, the Chairman of the Personnel Committee, and the Chairman of the Finance Committee to form our Pastor Search Committee.
October 23, 2022 – Committee Nominations (Second Round). NSBC congregation members received ballots to nominate potential members of the Pastor Search Committee. The top fourteen nominations will be placed on the ballot for a Special Called Business Meeting on November 13, 2022.
October 16, 2022 – Committee Nominations (First Round). NSBC congregation members received ballots to nominate potential members of the Pastor Search Committee.
September 11, 2022 – Pastor Van announces to the congregation his intention to retire within the next year and asks the church to begin the process of forming a search committee to find his replacement.
