Message from Dr. Thomas

Whether you have been on this journey with us for many years or have recently joined the family at NSBC, you have probably noticed the incredible growth that God has brought over the past few years. We have seen a tremendous number of new members and many who have come to faith in Christ for the first time. We have also seen the multiplication and growth of our Core Groups and the start of a second campus at Spring Creek, providing an opportunity to reach the southern part of the county. Of course, this growth is an incredible blessing but also brings with it some new challenges.

Therefore, we are entering into a new phase in our history, and I believe that God is calling us to steward this season well. There are many property and ministry-related needs that need to be addressed in the coming months and years. Faithfully meeting those needs will take all of us seeking God’s will together and doing what He is calling us to do. But is this even possible? Let me respond by saying enthusiastically, yes! If we trust in the abundance of our Lord, are faithful to His calling, and are obedient to follow Him every step of the way, I believe that He will bless us in ways that we have never seen. So, I want to challenge you to be faithful in this season. Remember, “giving is a part of growing, because stewardship is a part of discipleship.”

“Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”- Ephesians 3:20-21 (CSB)

Campaign History & Vision

Early in 2025, our leadership recognized that, with several projects lining up for consideration, the church should consider a fundraising campaign to provide the capital needed to accomplish this important work. Our Finance Committee reviewed the needs over the spring and summer, and in the fall, brought the recommendation to our Quarterly Conference on October 26, 2025, where it was unanimously approved for a Spring 2026 launch.

We selected the name, God’s Abundance, out of our understanding that while our resources are limited, the Lord’s resources are limitless, and we framed our thinking around Paul’s exhortation to the Ephesian church: “Now to him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us—to him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21 (CSB)

We began with a 40-day season of prayer and fasting, which culminated in a 24-hour prayer vigil. This was followed by a celebration of our many lay leaders, giving them an early viewing of the NSBC mini-documentary, and allowing them to pledge their support to the campaign prior to Pledge Sunday. We were overwhelmed by their response, with $1,883,950 pledged toward these projects!

We’re excited to share that we are now in the project completion phase of the God’s Abundance campaign. These efforts include enhancements to and enclosing the pavilion at our College Building (NSC), the launch and continued development of our new Spring Creek Campus, upgrades to our buses, an office remodeling project, and a variety of potential improvements across the North Main campus. (For a full list of projects, please see below.)

Every one of these projects has one thing in common. In one way or another, they help us in leading every generation toward a fully-formed life with Jesus. That is the vision of NSBC, and it is therefore, the vision for the campaign as well. Every space created, every bus or shuttle ride provided, every square foot remodeled, will help us to reach those whom God sends to us with the truth of His gospel. Praise the Lord!

Each of these projects will be approved by the church independently, based on the planning and permitting process, along with the availability of funds to complete the work. Our Building & Grounds, and Finance Committees will bring these recommendations to the church for approval at our regularly scheduled Quarterly Conferences. We will also post regular updates to this site, and share these with the church family through regular Campaign emails.
